Art Deco bronze lamp female dancer holding a glass shade
Art Deco bronze figural table lamp of a dancer holding a glass shade
"Danseuse à la coupe" by Max Le Verrier.
Normally this lamp is in white metal.
The bronze version is very hard to find.
The sculpture has a lovely green patina and stands on a green marble base.
History:
In 1923, Max LE VERRIER realized his first dancer after a living model, recruited by a small ad placed in the shop of a merchant in the Rue du Commerce in the 15th arrondissement.
The young woman that presents itself, is perfectly suited to the subject, having danced at the Folies Bergère.
In addition to his retribution for the hours of installation, Max LE VERRIER offers her a bronze piece.
