Lovely pair of Art Deco bronze bookends with Chinese students, one is reading the other is standing. The sculpture have a lovely green and golden patina. They are mounted on fine onyx bases. ca. 1925.
The bookends are signed by Mabel White, an English sculptress. who worked in London.
She was a pupil of O. Waldmann and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1898 onwards.
